Schuylkill County Historical Society Donation Procedures

  1. Any artifacts, archival materials, publications, manuscripts, photographs, maps, and other materials must be related to the history of Schuylkill County.

  2. Donors must call the Director and/or Assistant Director at (570) 622-7540 or email sch.hist@comcast.net for potential approval before bringing the items to the SCHS. An appointment will be made if the item is considered appropriate for the collection.

  3. If item is approved, donor will sign a deed of gift transferring ownership to the SCHS.

  4. No item should be dropped off without following the above directives. Items left on the property will be discarded.

  5. SCHS staff has the right to refuse any items that do not fit the Society’s collections policy.

Schuylkill County history comes to life in the SCHS museum collection that contains thousands of objects, drawing visitors from around the country to our extraordinary museum.

This collection has been made possible through generous contributions from the public. If you have items of Schuylkill County significance that you believe would benefit the Society, please follow the Donation Procedures below.
