About the author:
Dean Alan Conrad is a former newspaper reporter and columnist at the Pottsville Republican newspaper, as it was named then, from 1976 to 1984. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with a BA in English. He has always liked everything creepy. In fact, he convinced his parents to let him turn their basement one summer into a mad scientist's laboratory and charge, friends, neighbors, and relatives admission.
More recently, he has written a trilogy of vampire novels, After Dark, Before Dawn, and The Reluctant Vampire. The series follows the exploits of Bo Bentwood, a college student who travels from his East Coast college campus near a large city to the West Coast and back to his small midwestern hometown. Along the way he is kidnapped by a vampiress and chased by vampire hunters. The hunters are both a sophisticated secret society dedicated to the eradication of the undead and a ragtag group of homeless people who escaped the vampires and decided to destroy them.
